My elementary school experiences is what stands out the most in my memory. My second grade teacher is definitely the most influential teacher that I have ever had up until this day. I still see my second grade teacher and she has not changed one bit. I remember that she loved to teach us, and loved to help us if we ever needed help. She was the teacher that everyone hoped they had, the teacher that is very unforgettable. She taught me that even if you don't get the answer right to a problem, trying to answer it means a lot more than not trying at all. When I first entered second grade I remember I always used to say the words "I can't do it" over and over again. Mrs. P (my second grade teacher) always told me that if I think negatively then negative things will happen. From that day forward I thought positive and said positive phrases like "this might be hard but I can do it!" My mom was definitely the caregiver that was very influential as well. As the last one of four I feel as though my mom and I had a stronger relationship than my brothers and sisters, mainly because I was "her baby." She helped me with school related things when she saw that I was truly struggling, but didn't help me when she knew I was just being a little bit lazy. She always read to me at night, and had all the patience in the world when I tried to read too. When I first started reading I read very slowly and very choppy, just like mostly every kid did at the beginning. I remember saying that I hated the way I read and that I wished I could read just like her. We practiced daily and I now thank my mother because she is the reason why I love reading so much.
